Breakfast BABE
Homemade Cafe is our neighborhood spot and it's really, really hard to pass up on the Breakfast BABE when I order - the basil REALLY makes the sandwich and with the egg, bacon and tomato, it's the perfect blend of rich, tangy and savory.
Blueberry Pancakes
Light but satisfying. Texture and flavor is perfect, served beautifully. Amazing pancakes.
week day combo
This is my reason to drive from Oakland to Berkeley at peak hour on a weekday! I have tried ALL the pancakes in East Bay and these are the best you will ever have. Yes, period! They are so airy that the dollop of butter sinks on them, perfect complement for a savory bite of bacon and egg, or a dreamy dessert drizzled with maple syrup. You are welcome!
fried chicken and waffle
Omg the chicken and waffles are really good. I usually go to 900 Grayson for the chicken and waffles, but now homemade caught my attention! The Waffles is really good and the chicken is very crisp
pecan waffle
The toasted pecans add a really nice crunch and nutty flavor to the waffle. HC included real maple syrup too. That was nice of them. Highly recommend for brunch goers with a sweet tooth.
HomeFry Heaven
I have been eating HomeFry Heaven since I was a graduate student in the 1980s! Hands down my favorite dish (though its a tie between the guac and the pesto). I live on the east coast now but have a kid in school here and it is a thrill to find myself back in Homemade Cafe heaven every visit!

Brkfst Gumbo
Love this breakfast gumbo! It's my go-to at home room. Comes with biscuits and sides and is hella good. Though I have to say, you can't go wrong with anything at this place!
Pancakes
I love pancakes, and these were among the fluffiest most tasty ones I've ever had! With butter and syrup, they made my day! I also couldn't resist the muffin of the day, which combined chocolate chips, bacon and peanut butter to create an unequaled feast for the senses. (And not too sweet, either. ) I'll be back for sure!
